OK so this is not iPhone specific news but we thought you might be interested all the same. Apparently authorities in Japan have alerted consumers that there have been a number of cases where iPod Nanos have burst into flames, particularly upon recharging.
According to the Ministry of Economy, it seems that it mostly involves iPod Nano models sold in the first year after they were launched in 2005. This means it may not be an issue for more recent models, and for the time being we haven't heard reports of other Apple products (such as the iPhone) being affected... Watch this space!
