Whenever a new product like the iPhone is launched, the first reaction of many people is to try to stock up and sell as many as possible on eBay to take advantage of the rush. That's worked very well for some in the past, so inevitably, when the launch of the iPhone was announced, some people became very excited.
We found this hilarious video of a woman (dubbed "Miss Piggy") in Dallas on launch day who drove up to the first person in the queue at the AT&T store to buy his place for $800. Her plan? To buy $100,000 worth of iPhones and become a millionnaire on eBay. Unfortunately for her, AT&T limited the number of iPhones to one device per person... The young guy she paid had a great day: a free iPhone plus all the accessories (and some change to spare), courtesy of this woman. On the other hand, she'll have to wait another day to make her millions online. The moral of the story: money (often) talks, but it pays to do your research before running in like a bull in a China shop...
Launch day is bound to generate funny situations like this one, and we expect more of the same in the UK and across Europe (although maybe not quite this bad). We'd love to hear from you if you have any funny anecdotes of people getting a bit carried away around launch day! Report courtesy of FOX 4 News in Dallas. |
